Lovingly Gone..............scribbles 107

“Looks like snow clouds coming in.”

“Yes....I feel it getting colder. I wish I had wrapped her in her favorite blanket.”

“I know, she would have liked that. I remember how cold her feet used to get. It was the first thing you felt when she crawled into bed with us on those cold nights.”

“She hated wearing slippers.”

“You want something to eat?”

“No, dear, I’m not hungry.”

“It’s been two days. You should really eat something.”

“I will....soon, I promise.”

“This morning, I thought I heard her laughing. Strange how vivid it was. For a moment, it felt like my heart would burst. The power of her sweet laughter and the gentle strength it could give you.”

“Yes, I know. I can smell her....in every room....every room. Her clothes, her little brush, her bed. I try to fill my lungs with her scent, anything to just keep her with me a little longer……anything.”

“I know. It seems everything has just stopped. The house was so alive when she ran through it....now, even it seems to have a calm sadness about it.”

“I wish I could embrace her....just....once more. Hold her....kiss her little cheeks.”

“I know, darling. But, now we need to treasure the memories and, somehow, get through the pain.”

“I know now, that a mother’s grief....is as powerful as her love.”

So true. And it certainly knows what it’s doing.

This is heartbreaking. A concept I can fathom but never want to experience. But of course, it’s done in your sweetly sensitive style.
